Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten. This is the dragon that greets you at the front door at Ian's new school!

Well, the day has come! He is so big...and he knows it! Today Isabelle and I took Ian to his first day of Kindergarten. He was happy to see one of his soccer buddies there. They lined right up and got ready to walk down to the classroom together. He was fully prepared with his glue sticks and pencils and a loaf of zuchini bread for his teacher. (I know you think I am a kiss-up, but there is nothing wrong with starting off on the teachers good side!!!)

Ian walked in a line to his classroom. He walked right in without the slightest hesitation. He handed the bread to his teacher and found a seat with his buddy Karl.

He and Karl joined right in with the other kids and built blocks and listened to the directions from the teacher on how their backpacks fit onto their chairbacks. I had a hard time walking away. It all happened so fast. I didn't get a hug or a kiss or even a wave. I finally called out his name from the doorway so that I could at least say goodbye. He waved ever so quickly and then continued building blocks! You better believe that I will look at him a little differently tonight and that I will hold on a little longer when I tell him goodnight!
Congratulations Ian! You are growing up to be a fine little man!
